Senior Pictures Are Easier Than You Think

Yes, you heard right. Despite what you’ve heard, senior pictures are actually a lot easier than it sounds. I know a lot of you parents are wondering whether or not your senior (mostly guys) would be willing to stand in front of a camera. They (mostly “he”) don’t look forward to having to go somewhere and have somebody tell them what to wear, what to do, and how to look.

There is a solution. It’s all about compromise. I can’t tell you how many times I get phone calls from worried parents. Most of the time, their biggest concern is whether I can get good senior pictures of their child (mostly boys).

This is what I tell them…

Compromise Is Key

The best way to avoid any conflict is to compromise with your high school senior. It’s one of the first pieces of advice I give to any parent. Seniors want to wear what makes them comfortable. But parents what their child to wear something a little bit nicer for their senior pictures.

This is why most of our clients go with a multiple outfit session. Typically, they’ll choose a 3-Outfit Session. It allows them to have a variety of outfits; one “nice outfit”, a “casual outfit”, and something in-between. Trust me, it works every time.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the past 20 years, it’s that seniors want to be involved in how they appear in their senior portraits. It’s natural, and it avoids a lot of headaches when you come to an agreement.

“There is a solution. It’s all about compromise.”

Everyone is happy…

Isn’t that what we really want? To have a great experience as well as amazing photos? Enjoying your portrait session makes you feel better when you go back and look at their senior pictures. It makes you proud (and relieved!) while they walk away enjoying themselves.

What do I do next?

That part is easy. Check out our sessions and decide which one is right for you AND for your senior. Let them be a part of the decision-making. This way, everyone feels like they have a hand in the process.

Give us a call, shoot us an email, or just contact us whichever way works best for you. We’re happy to help and give you as much helpful advice as we can. It’s a lot easier than you think!
