Austin Senior Photos | Tips for Guys

Three tips on senior photos for guys…

Senior Photos Austin | Dustin Meyer Photography

So many times, we have moms calling our studio wanting to book a senior photo session for their son. But their biggest worry is that he won't be into having his portrait done. If you're a mom, rest assured you're not alone.

However, there's one thing we've learned when it comes to doing Austin senior photos for guys. They may act like they don't want their picture taken, but we promise you that they do.

In fact, a lot of high school senior guys look forward to their senior photos session. They just won't admit to it...

As you can imagine, we were prepared to handle our upcoming session with Conner. Little did we realize that we were in for a surprise. Simply put, he rocked it.

Tips from Conner’s senior photo session…

Tip #1: Relax

Mom, tell your high school guy it's no big deal. When we do our senior portraits, Dustin Meyer Photography takes a very relaxed approach.

In fact, being a guy, Dustin knows exactly how to chat it up and keep his senior photo sessions natural. Trust us, it's not as bad as a physical and it's better than what guys expect from a senior photos session.

Plus, for all you guys out there, if you do a good job for Mom, it's more brownie points for you later on.

Tip #2: It’s all about variety

Lots of times, guys prefer to dress casual for their senior portraits session. And we totally get it. Most of the time, they just want to wear their favorite jeans and a t-shirt.

Understandable.

However, you moms out there want your baby boy looking nice. Perhaps a tie, slacks, khakis, or anything dressy, you name it. Anything is better than looking like he just rolled out of bed.

Again, understandable.

We have one word for you: Compromise.

That's why moms go for our 3 or 4 outfit sessions. That way, your young man gets a couple of outfits that he likes. Plus, mom is guaranteed to get some outfits that she wants. It's a win/win situation.

So let's agree to disagree, but keep it friendly. That way, everyone's happy.

Tip #3: It’s inevitable

Yup, you heard it straight, guys. Whether you like it or not, you're getting your senior photos taken. So why fight it? It's not that you have to be upset about it. In fact, the more you cooperate, the sooner it's over.

Plus, grumpy attitudes make for grumpy looking photos. And Mom and Dad don't want to spend their money only to get spoiled portraits. Besides, at Dustin Meyer Photography, every high school senior guy we've worked with has enjoyed their session. Promise.

As you can see, Conner did all of these things and Mom was extremely pleased with the results. In fact, all of the moms who chose us for their boy's senior portraits walk away extremely happy.

Oh yeah, and one more thing. Girls love a confident man. So guys, let's show those ladies what you're made of... and make your momma proud at the same time.

Do you know where I can access more pics from Conner’s senior photo session? I am will soon be graduating HS and doing my senior pics this summer 2020 and I like his style choice for the session but I only see a few pics and wanted to see more so I could imitate his style for my pics next semester as inspiration.
